My Sewing Machine Family

Many of us feel our sewing machines are family members.

I am fortunate - and grateful - to have a "machine family" ranging from early 1900s through 2009. This includes my mom's 1940 New Home (a beautiful "work horse" and my all-time favorite), my 1970 Kenmore (my senior-year Christmas gift) and a sweet Singer Featherweight made in the year I was born, that I purchased in 2010.

I am immeasurably grateful for my early 1900s Premium Treadle and my Babylock Imagine serger, both of which were extremely generous gifts from very kind friends.

"If I have to spend time indoors ... I can only hope there is a sewing machine in the room."
